Kathmandu Accommodation
We stay in good quality, tourist class Hotels in Kathmandu. Our usual hotel has a magnificent  garden, which leads to a coffee shop and a swimming pool fashioned after a stone carved royal bath from 16th Century Nepal.

On trek: We use Lodges, or "tea Houses" as they are traditionally called, the rooms vary in size, normally with 2-4 beds. Accommodation once on trek is full board (normally with a  packed lunch) and  Evening meals are included, as are Services of guide and porters.

Also included:
Airport transfers, half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, Pre -trek briefing. Flights and road transfers to treks as described in itineraries. Trek permits and fees.

Health Matters
A medical kit will accompany the trek. We do, however, recommend that each person carry a small personal first aid kit. A suggested list of contents will be sent to all members, as well as more general information on health matters.

Documents
A visa is required for Nepal and you must have a valid passport. Trekking documents are required, but these are organised by us in Kathmandu.

Everest - the word itself has connotations of challenge and achievement and, as the world's highest peak, it inevitably exerts its own particular attraction. The region is also the home of the Sherpas and an outpost of Tibetan Buddhism with many fascinating monasteries. If it is the mountains that draw the trekker, it is the people, their villages and way of life that will ensure lasting memories. Our portfolio of treks is designed to appeal to all levels of walking experience. Some give greater emphasis to the people, their villages and the culture, others provide a really challenging mountain experience.

This is a challenging high altitude trek created for those with a background of regular mountain walking. You will be able to see the main mountains of the Everest group from different perspectives and visit an area that gets far fewer visitors than standard treks. We break away from the main trail to Everest at Khumjung and hike up the Gokyo Valley, noted for it's clear Himalayan lakes and remarkable mountainscapes. From Gokyo Ri (17,990ft) there is an unrivalled panorama of the major Himalayan peaks, we then descend into the upper Khumbu valley. On top of Kala Patta (18,193ft), near the site of Everest base camp, we can enjoy the classical close quarters views of the south face and west ridge of Everest and the awe inspiring Khumbu icefall, including the famous South Col. All the major villages and monasteries of the Solu Khumbu are visited in the course of the trek, which does need a fair degree of stamina.
